Recently, on social media, a friend of mine was geeking out about her passion for dressing up for Comicon. She posted several posts about the event, her costume, her itinerary, and all the things that she was looking forward to doing. I am so excited for her. I love seeing her excitement and anticipation. I love seeing her photos and hearing her preparation story. It's amazing to watch someone truly come alive when they are in their own authentic joy. Unfortunately, not everyone else is. A few people who are "friends" of hers, posted very negative and honestly hateful things about her geekiness. About her passion. About her costume. and a few other comments that were only vaguely related to her posts.
And somewhere in there, it suddenly turned ugly. Not only had these people bashed HER and HER happiness, they ultimately turned her fantastic post into a political bashing of each of the other commenters. Unfortunately, this is not the first, or the second, or even the tenth time I have seen this happen. Yes, we all have strong opinions. Yes we are all human and have our likes and dislikes. But can I please ask you to have open-minded convo's and promote what you LOVE instead of bashing what you hate? Right now, the world needs so much love. Be the love my friends!
